Backbone network: mainly use DWDM technology to improve transmission bandwidth (2.5G ~ 10Tbps), metropolitan area network: important technologies are SONET/SDH, WDM and Ethernet, etc., the bandwidth per wavelength is about 2.5G->10Gbps LAN: Ethernet speed mainstream 1Gbps access network that has slowly moved from 100Mbps to fiber transmission: mainly CATV, HFC, FTTX, DSL, Wireless, Satelite and other technologies.
