The II-VI‘s newly developed wide angle of incidence mirrors are specifically designed for LiDAR applications.
It enables the reflected laser beam in the LiDAR system to maintain a highly consistent laser power over a wide range of incident angles from 0 to 85 degrees. A compact LiDAR system design can also be achieved by "folding" the laser beam. It also has a very high reflectivity and maintains high stability in extreme operating environments.
Vincent Lin, vice president of marketing and sales for II-VI, commented, “This product uses our patented dielectric coating technology to provide superior long-term reliability compared to commercially available silver or aluminum mirrors. ”
This wide angle of incidence mirror also maintains a maximum reflectance of 99% over the bandwidth of the LiDAR laser at a wavelength of 200 nm, matching 905 nm, 940 nm, 1550 nm or other wavelengths. Laser types include VCSELs (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers), EEL (Edge Emission Lasers), and fiber lasers.
