The first sensor optimized avalanche photodiode products for Lidar (Lidar) sensors and offers a range of silicon avalanche photodiodes (APDs), Series 9, in the near-infrared (NIR) wavelength range, especially at 905 nm, Very high sensitivity. The Series 9 APD features an internal gain mechanism, wide dynamic range and fast rise time, making it ideal for Lidar systems for optical distance measurement and target recognition using propagation delay methods. Target applications include driver assistance systems, uav, safety laser scanners, 3D measurements and robotics.
The Series 9 APD provides a single APD and a line array or matrix with multiple active sensors that can be supplied in a solid to package or planar SMD ceramic package. When a reverse voltage is applied, the gain of the avalanche photodiode is slowly increased, and a high precision and convenient gain can be obtained.
For mixed solutions with exceptional low light levels, the internal transimpedance amplifier (TIA) can further amplify the APD signal. The integrated amplifier and photodiode have been optimized and matched for a compact design and a very high signal-to-noise ratio.
First Sensor sensors, with their own semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and extensive development capabilities, can provide customized silicon APDs for customers‘ unique needs such as sensitivity, gain, rise time or design.
The main features of the Series 9 APD include:
- High sensitivity in the 905nm wavelength range;
- extensive dynamic range and fast rising time;
- A single APD, linear array and matrix array can be provided.
- sturdy package or flat SMD ceramic package;
- A hybrid solution with TIA.
